This is Amazing!

Dancing on a Moving Horse?

Yes! It's called vaulting. It's super cool to watch. Vaulting on horseback is gymnastics and dance on a moving horse.

Vaulting was used to train soldiers, since they needed to have their hands and arms free to hold and use weapons. Vaulting was first done in a straight line, but much later it was realized that the horse and rider had better balance if the horse moved in a circle.

Vaulting is one of the best ways to introduce people to the sport of equestrianism, helping to develop balance, confidence and harmony with the horse for any riding discipline.

Here is a video of a vaulting team.

A Servant's Heart

Getting to Know God

"You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart,"
-Jeremiah 29:12-13

How many of us want to find God? How many of us actually truly seek God with all of our heart? There are so many days when it is easier to put God in a box and go do my own thing instead of spending time with Him and getting to know Him. Those are the days I am happy with life and everything is going my way. But on those days I am sad and frustrated with life I call out to God and ask Him where He is and why can't I find Him.

Then I remember Jeremiah 29:12-13. He tells me if I seek Him I will find Him, but I have to search for Him with my heart. I have to really want to get to know God.

When I started working at camp I didn't start really building the strong relationships with my friends until I reached out in friendship and put in some effort. It's not good enough to find out what a person's favorite color is to become great friends, you have to know what makes that person smile, or what makes that person upset. When I became good friends with the people at camp we didn't say, "See ya next summer." We hung out through out the school year.

God is the same way. You first find God, and get saved. You have a few happy days but then life gets in the way and you start to loose that drive to get to know Him. Then you might have a "Jesus moment." (I have those a lot) That's when you feel that fire for God again. You pick up your bible and start to read some stuff but as the days go on you read less and less. Then you have a bad day and you wonder where God was that day.

This is the story of my life! The thing is God is always there but we don't recognize Him because we are always so busy doing other things that focusing on Him! I might just be rambling on here but this is straight from my heart. We need that time with God. I have so many bible's in my home yet I have not read the whole thing. How am I suppose to get to know God if I don't read His book that He left for me to read? If I see my sister's diary laying around of course I will read that! I want to know whatever secrets she has.

Prayer is also a big thing to Get to know God. I have seen what prayer can do and it is amazing! Just like when we talk to our friends we need to talk to God. And then we have to stop and listen for God to answer. That has been super hard for me and it is something I am still working on. It is important.

Today I decided to have a DTJ (Date With Jesus). It sounds kinda silly but it was a great way to spend some time with God reading what His book says and having a good little chat with Him. It was fun! So I am going to have more DTJ's and I challenge whoever else who reads this post to do the same! When we start seeking God we will find Him and even during the rough days we will know where God is.

I am really excited  book to come out! It is hopefully the final book in the Inheritance Cycle. I am sure many of you have heard about the book Eragon that was later made into a movie. I watched the movie first and that's how I got into the books. I personally like the book better than the movie but I still don't mind watching to movie. Well the last book in this series is coming out in November and I can't wait to read it!

A Servant's Heart

"Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
-Isaiah 41:10

I really love this verse because God is speaking first of all and what He says gives me courage to live for Him. The Creator of everything said He is with us and He's going to give us strength! This is so amazing to me that God wants to be there for us and He's not just some guy sitting up in Heaven telling us to leave Him alone. He is down here with us walking this walk beside us and when we no longer have the strength to stand He upholds us! God is amazing!

Last Year!

I cannot believe that I only have one last year until I am done with high school! It is crazy that I am a senior and at the end of this school year I will graduate! I remember back when I was in 6th great and I couldn't wait to graduate from high school, but now I wish I didn't want to grow up so fast. Back then I could just dream about what I want to be and do with y life. Now I actually have to figure out how I am going to make a living! It is crazy but it should be another very exciting adventure in this life of mine.

Don't Worry!

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

-Matthew 6:33-34 (HCSB)

Praising God

How many of us go to church and pretend we are praising God while we are singing those songs but in reality we have other things going on in our minds? We get so distracted by the meaningless things of life that we push God aside even when we are singing praises to Him! Why do we let that happen? Shouldn't God be the center of our life?

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
-Revelation 4:11

We should have our focus on God because if it is not on God then it is on the world. The Bible tells us, "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."
-1 John 2:15-17

So when we praise God we should praise him with our hearts and not just go through the motions. If we truly started to seek God and learn how awesome he really is then our hearts will be changed! We will praise him for who he is and not because we are just going through the motions.
And shouldn't we praise God all day every day? If he is the center of our lives shouldn't praising him for all that He's done always be on our minds?

"My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day."
-Psalms 71:8

Praise the Lord!

Psalm 146

Praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD, my soul.
I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the LORD their God.

He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets prisoners free,
the LORD gives sight to the blind,
the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,
the LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The LORD reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.

   Praise the LORD.

I'm Back!

Sadly camp has ended for the summer. This summer has definitely been the hardest one yet but also the best. The other two summers I had a lot more fun but this summer I got to know God way better and I've grown so much in my faith in Him!
