Oh Praise Him

My pastor played this song in church and it's really cool. Do you guys every have those times when you are feeling Jesus, and you are having a Jesus moment and you really want to just praise Him, but you are in the middle of a crowd and you wonder what others will think of you if you do start randomly praising God? Well, I've got a show for you... (From veggietales :p)

This video hit home when I saw it. I wish I would be bold enough for Jesus to start praising him like that!

God Loves You

For those of you who have grown up in a church, I'm sure you've heard this a lot. It seems like that is the main Christian answer to give people is God loves you. We just through that around and never really stop to ponder the depth of this statement. Here are some verses that show God's love:

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies (Psalm 36:5).

How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings (Psalm 36:7).

Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love (Psalm 48:9).

But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever (Psalm 52:8).

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness (Psalm 86:15).

Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever (Psalm 136:26).

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness" (Jeremiah 31:3).

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends John 15:13).

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love (John 15:9).

I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit, and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

So one day my sis decided she wanted to learn how to play the harp. It's got to be one of the oldest hardest interments to play, but that's what she wanted to learn! This insterment is so old it was back in the Bible.

"But now bring me a harpist.” While the harpist was playing, the hand of the LORD came on Elisha

- 2 Kings 3:15

Anyways, here are some more modern songs played on the harp.

So, I got excepted into the Desperation Leadership Academy in Colorado Springs! What is that? you might ask. Well, here is the link: Desperation Leadership Academy
I am so excited that I got excepted into this program! It starts up in the beginning of September, and it goes for a year.

A Servant's Heart

Is it so Wrong Always Being Right?

I have been struggling throughout my whole life with wanting to always be right. This has caused me many pointless arguments, hurt feelings, and being very frustrated. I know I am not alone in my struggle with this and many of you can relate.

"It is better to do the right thing than to be right."

So, an example is, rather than try to prove my point, I should stop and listen to what my parents are telling me.
Instead of destroying relationships by trying to prove that we are right, we should do the right thing by letting go of our pride. I have looked up a few bible verses where God explains this better than me.

“Before his downfall a man’s heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.”
-Proverbs 18:12

“A man’s pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.”
-Proverbs 29:23

“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
-Romans 12:3-5

“Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
-Philippians 2:2-4

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”
-1 Corinthians 13:4

I guess I don't have a bunch to say. I want to encourage who every is reading this and struggling with pride, and wanting to be right, that you are not alone. I feel the same way but God is bigger than this pride, and He will help us overcome it. One thing that has been helping me is that I have been praying in the mornings when I wake up that God would help my prideful heart and give me strength to not get into arguments over me being right. God has given me strength, and He will give you strength as well.

 The sun is so warm,
It shines down on my fur.
Today it will not storm,
I dislike rain but the sun I do prefer.
I enjoy going in the car for a ride,
It takes me to a place a feel free.
I see my friend I run beside,
We run to some old Birch tree.
A strange smell caught my attention,
I dart off to see what I can find.
My friend like I need correction,
As she chases me from behind.
I slow down to let her catch up,
And she grabbed her silly put.

All I Need is You Lord

I remember when I was younger, I would see something I liked in the story, and I would say to my mom, "Mommy I need that!" My mom would reply, "Do you really need that, or do you want it." Her logic is, "If you can live without it, you don't need it."
At the time I thought that I would die if I didn't have that object and my mom was being unfair.
There are so many things in our lives that we think we need them. Girls need a boyfriend. Teens need the latest video game system. Guys need a cool car. Girls need an iPhone. Church people need to be in charge of the events. Dad's need to watch TV. Mom's need to play computer games. Kids need more toys. And of course, everybody needs to go to Hawaii!
I'm surrounded by things I've "needed." Now that I have them though, I don't need them.
All of that though is stuff we want. Not need. But Jesus on the other hand...He is something we do need.
These things that we want, they will come and go. They are in our lives for only a fraction of eternity. Jesus is always there though.
I'm not saying that it is wrong to want stuff, but we should be wanting Jesus. We need Jesus. He is somebody that we can't live without. He would be our first want and need.

Faith That Can Move Mountains

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

The Sword of Lyric

I just finished reading these three books by Sharon Hinck. I wouldn't say the author has the best writing style I have ever read, but she was able to write in such away that made me want to get closer to God. So they aren't all that bad. :p
Anyways, in the three books these few lines have been repeated a lot. I like them, so I am going to share them with you.

"Awesome in majesty, perfect in power,
One to deliver us, He is our tower.
Enemies circle us, darkness descending;
He is the Morning Light, love without ending."
